Well – there is no shortage of snow in the trails! The groomer is still ticking along, and tonight I groomed the 3k and the 5k with the intent to do the hills tomorrow!

The trail conditions this winter have been awesome, and I’ve been playing with some of the settings in the groomer to try and take the small undulations out of the trail – I’m not sure if it’s helping or not.

After last week’s storm we groomed 14 & 15 Feb, and then overnight things froze up, so we groomed again mid-day on 16 Feb for the mini-striders session, and wound up with one of the fastest fresh groom conditions of the year so far.
We continue to fight with an electrical issue in the Bombardier, but it gets us home each night, so that’s all that matters. Each time we follow a wire, we find a new arc or draw. So process of elimination will ideally get us a problem solved!

With the storm yesterday, there were drifts in spots that were 6ft high, and in other areas, windswept icy conditions remained, so the blade looked to level some of that out this session, and the trackset turned out crisp aside from the end of the escalator, and a bit of the flats where a stick got picked up under the trackset.
Skiing it shortly after the groom conditions were a touch soft (as they typically are post-groom), but by the end of the session felt perfect.

I’m out of the area for work for 10 days, and the trails will be in the capable hands of Daniel Chaisson! More efficient and more corduroy, which is an all-around positive experience for all trail users, and we are thankful Daniel is willing to come out of retirement to help out – we’ll take his habs jersey out of the rafters and dust it off for him! As stated before – it takes a village!
Lots of events coming down the pipeline, so stay tuned to our social media!!
