01 February 2026 – Trail Report

Trail Update – 01 Feb

We’ve finally got the kinks worked out of our groomer for the year, thank you for your patience! With myself (Chad) out of the area, our newest Groomer Operator, Merlin (Dad!) stepped up and got the trails fully groomed this week. The 3, 5, and 8 are all freshly groomed and will continue to be refreshed with the snow coming this week! Huge shoutout to Hydraulic Power Plus for coordinating this repair!

Another huge shoutout to our new snowdog operators who helped keep a trackset and keep things moving in the absence of our Groomer (Morgan LaVie, Liz Burke, Tyler K) as well as the folks who helped drag / flatten the trails after the snowfall (Dylan Fay / Ben Bruce / Dylan MacDonald). This process reinforced the purchase of the snowdog this year, giving us redundancy in the event the groomer needs repairs.

This continues to display the community approach to keeping the club alive! People volunteer their time to make this space enjoyable for everyone, and never forget that if you can’t donate time – donation of money assists in the management of the trails/infrastructure! It is truly a labour of love out there 🙂

Keep on eye on our social media page throughout the next 2 months and make sure you get out and enjoy the hospitality at the lodge. We also intend to train one more Groomer Operator this winter to get more redundancy.

The next couple of weeks, we will also be taking the snowdog through the snowshoe trails, as well as making a backcountry adventure into “The Glen” – dates / times to follow.

Moving forward, I’ll continue trying to get weekly updates on here for the season.

See you out there!!!!
