All please, be aware – the Snowmobile trails have three areas we can cross / multi-use (which has been discussed with PEISA / PEI Gov).
- Legacy Park > McVarish Pond (50 meter stretch)
- End of Legacy Trail back to Legacy Parking Lot (30 meter stretch)
- Traditional Ski Crossing Site (crossing site)
When using the snowmobile trails always remember:
- They have the right away.
- Stay in a single file on the shoulder of the trail.
- Listen for snowmobiles and allow them to go if at all possible.
- If walking dogs on Legacy Loop, they must be under control.
This also means that there should be no persons walking from the Legacy Parking Lot up the confed trail to McVarish Pond – use the Legacy Park trail, and the appropriate area.
This is one of the few spaces where multi-use occurs island-wide, and we must ensure we do so in a safe, respectful manner. They are permitting us to cross, and we are gracious for the assistance in providing additional access to parking as well as the opportunity to expand trail use in this area we all love!
